Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), Prof. Garay Geraybeyli Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bilal received Hayeni.

The meeting focused on the rapid development of long-standing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in various fields in the field of medicine, and exchanged views on expanding this cooperation.

Noting that AMU's international relations have expanded in recent years, the rector reminded that the number of cooperation universities has increased: “Currently, we have cooperation with about 85 higher education and research institutions from about 30 countries.

AMU is the leading university in the country in terms of the number of foreign students. Thus, 2526 foreigners from 37 countries study here. There are 24 students from Pakistan in our university. ”

Garaybeyli stressed the need to increase efforts to increase the number of students from Pakistan, to organize the exchange of future doctors, to intensify efforts to conduct joint research.

Pakistan's ambassador to Azerbaijan Bilal Haye said his country has always supported Azerbaijan's just and fair position on Nagorno-Karabakh. He also spoke about the steps to be taken to establish and strengthen cooperation between the Azerbaijan Medical University and Pakistani universities, the implementation of mutual projects.

At the end of the meeting, the rector presented the ambassador with the 90th anniversary medal of AMU.
