The State Translation Center is launching a 150-volume series "Pearls of World Literature" in order to create a taste for reading in the country, to deliver classic and modern examples of world literature to the Azerbaijani reader in perfect translation.

A series of publications featuring works by world literary luminaries such as Miguel de Cervantes, Akutagawa Runoske, Fyodor Dostoevsky, William Faulkner, Mikhail Bulgakov, Albert Camus, Hermann Hesse, Jerome Selincer, Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It will also cover the leading literature of Eastern Europe, Asia and post-Soviet countries.

The first herald of the series - a two-volume collection of novels, stories and diaries of the world-famous Austrian writer Franz Kafka, translated from the original, will be available to readers in the coming days.
