Chairman of the Press Council, Aflatun Amashov, is leaving his post.

Tehsil.biz reports with reference to "Unikal" that Aflatun Amashov will announce his decision in the near future. Rashad Majid, a member of the Management Board and editor-in-chief of the "525th" newspaper, will serve as the chairman of the Press Council.

Regarding the issue, Aflatun Amashov said that the Board of Directors will meet as several months have passed since the congress: "The time of the congress will be determined at the meeting of the Board of Directors. A new composition will be formed. The election of the chairman and other issues will be resolved at the congress."

Rashad Majid told Okhu.Az that he was not aware of the resignation of the Chairman of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov: "The Management Board of the Press Council will meet and they will determine the time of the congress. The election of the chairman also depends on the will of the journalists at the congress."
