The Minister of Defense, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, visited the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev.

First, flowers were laid at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev on the school grounds and his memory was honored.

Then a meeting was held at the club of the military school with the officers and cadets of the school, as well as professors and teachers.

At the beginning of the event, the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as those who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence. The national anthem was played.

The Defense Minister spoke about the historical significance of the victory in the Great Patriotic War under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev. It was emphasized that the moral and political support of brotherly Turkey played an important role during the war.

Congratulating the staff on the beginning of the new school year, the Minister praised the heroism and bravery of the military school students in the Great Patriotic War.
The Defense Minister said that the personnel reforms carried out in the Azerbaijani Army using new technologies played an important role in further strengthening our Army.

It was noted that the adaptation of the training program of military specialists at the Higher Military School to the programs applied in the military schools of the National Defense University of the Republic of Turkey is one of the important steps taken to train professional officers in the Azerbaijani Army.

Then Colonel-General Z. Hasanov inquired about the care of the cadets and wished them success in training and future services.
