Lankaran State University (LSU) hosted a scientific-theoretical conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of state independence. The conference held jointly with Mingachevir State University (MSU) honored the memory of the martyrs who died for independence.

Expressing satisfaction with the joint scientific-theoretical conference with MSU, the rector of LSU, Professor Natig Ibrahimov said that although Azerbaijan had the opportunity to gain independence twice a century, to create its own sovereign state, the first opportunity was foreign intervention, internal strife and lack of international security. lost for reasons; Founded in 1918, the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic lasted only 23 months. The second historical opportunity appeared 70 years later, and the collapse of the Soviet empire allowed the Azerbaijani people to restore their national independence. Ibrahimov said that over the past 30 years Azerbaijan has become one of the world's most powerful countries, both politically and economically. He noted that thanks to this victory, our country has become a spokesman in the region and has further increased its prestige in the world.

Speaking about the achievements of Azerbaijan in recent years, the rector of Moscow State University Shahin Bayramov said that today the people have no worries about their statehood; The main factors determining the fate of independence are preserved and developed; Equal attention is paid to strengthening statehood, economic development and preservation of national and moral values. This focus is more evident in the modern development of education.

At the end of the conference, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between LSU and MSU. According to the memorandum signed for 5 years, student-teacher exchange will be carried out between the universities, joint scientific events will be organized, and scientific cooperation will be expanded.

It should be noted that the MSU delegation also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the new educational buildings of LSU, the fully reconstructed Scientific Library, modern laboratories, auxiliary farms, tourism-experimental base, student dormitory, canteen.
