Vice-rector of university dies in Azerbaijan

Fakhraddin Hasan oglu Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Education and Training Technologies of Ganja State University, has died.

Fakhraddin Mammadov was born in 1950 in Aldara village of Mehri region of Armenia.

He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics of Baku State University and worked in various positions. He worked as a junior researcher, assistant, associate professor at the Institute of Mechanics and Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences, Azerbaijan State Agrarian University, and received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences. Later he worked as an associate professor at Ganja State University, deputy dean at the faculty of mathematics and informatics, dean of the faculty and since 2014 the first vice-rector of the University.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the University, he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Teacher of the Republic of Azerbaijan" by the Order of the President.
