Meeting with educators who took part in the Patriotic War in Ismayilli

On October 14, a meeting was held with educators fighting in the 44-day Patriotic War in Ismayilli region. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov, Head of the Ismayilli District Education Department Rovshan Aliyev, 22 educators who took part in the Great Patriotic War, heads of media outlets and media representatives.

The purpose of the meeting was to pay attention to the educators who took part in the war on Victory Day, to emphasize the role of educators in achieving Victory, to stimulate the youth and instill a sense of patriotism.

The event began with the commemoration of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Opening the meeting, Rovshan Aliyev, Head of the Education Department of Ismayil Region, greeted the participants and educators who took part in the battle, and gave the floor to Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov. Speaking about our victory in the 44-day war, the Deputy Minister said that a glorious page in our modern history has been written with the liberation of Karabakh, which has been occupied for 30 years, as a result of counter-offensive operations under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev.

Touching upon the role of educators in achieving victory, Firudin Gurbanov said that 760 educators fought heroically against the enemy during the 44-day war, 20 of them were killed. Noting that October 14 was the day of martyrdom of Famil Ahmadzadeh, a history teacher at school-lyceum No. 3 in Ismayilli region, the Deputy Minister spoke about the heroism and fighting prowess of our patriotic sons. Emphasizing that the memory of the martyrs will live in our hearts at all times, Firudin Gurbanov thanked the educators who took part in the Great Patriotic War, saying that each of them is an example for future generations.

In their speeches, the heads of the media participating in the meeting expressed confidence that Azerbaijani youth will grow up more patriotic by learning from war teachers, and thanked the educators. The idea of ​​publishing a book of memoirs of teachers who took part in the Great Patriotic War was also voiced at the event.

Afterwards, the educators who took part in the battle shared their memories and thanked them for their attention.
