The project "Preparation of a comprehensive international report on the violated rights of Azerbaijani IDPs" implemented at Baku State University (BSU) has been successfully completed and the report has been published in Azerbaijani and English.

At the beginning of the event, the memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.

In his introductory speech, the author and leader of the project, Rector of BSU Elchin Babayev spoke about the historic victory of the brave Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev over the invading Armenians. He said that after this great victory they had the opportunity to return to their homeland.

He noted that one of the academic projects launched at BSU after the brilliant victory of our brave army is the project "Preparation of a comprehensive international report on the violated rights of Azerbaijani IDPs." The main purpose of the international report is to determine the violated rights of IDPs from the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a result of the occupation of the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan for about 30 years, the scope and direction of the damage, to restore the violated rights by studying international experience. analysis of legal mechanisms. The basic rights and freedoms of IDPs from the Armenian-occupied and long-occupied territories of Azerbaijan before, during and after the occupation are recognized by international instruments and their violated rights must be restored.

In preparing the report, extensive reference was made to the experience of international organizations, international treaty and judicial practice, and finally to the experience of national legislation of different countries.

The report introduces, general approach and methodology, general information about the Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia for a long time, analysis of international documents adopted in connection with the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, violated fundamental rights and freedoms of IDPs, violations of basic principles of international law by Armenia and international crimes, approximate scope of damage caused by the occupation, existing international mechanisms, experience of other states, international judicial mechanisms, international legal responsibility of Armenia, necessary humanitarian aid for the occupied and liberated territories of Azerbaijan until the end of 2020, etc. . consists of sections such as.
