Employees of the Department of Radiation Diagnostics and Therapy have developed a new textbook called "Radiation Therapy" and made it available to students. The materials intended for the students of the Medical University are designed in accordance with the curriculum.

According to Tehsil.biz, the authors of the book are Doctor of Medical Sciences Malahat Sultanova, Doctors of Philosophy in Medicine Gulshan Aliyeva and Ayten Agamaliyeva. Reviewers are Isa Isayev, Head of the Radiation Therapy Department of the National Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Honored Scientist, and Matanat Panahova, Associate Professor of the Radiation Diagnosis and Therapy Department of AMU.

We are proud to say that the National Oncology Center, which combines the latest achievements of science and practice in our country, successfully applies all methods of modern radiation therapy. In 2012, the center published a fundamental work entitled "Radiation therapy of malignant tumors: theoretical foundations, application, results" by academician JA Aliyev and Honored Scientist IH Isayev. The source contains invaluable information for practitioners working in this field. The book covers a wide range of radiation treatments for malignant tumors that are more or less common in each system, anatomical area.

The first textbook on radiation therapy was written by Professor BA Bakhshiyev in 1982 and republished in 2004. Modern oncoradiology includes innovations such as radiation based on 3D systems, intensive modulation of the beam, improvement of patient immobilization technology, the use of conformal radiation. Due to the need for a resource that incorporates these innovations and is based on the curriculum, the textbook is provided to students.

The funds consist of general and special parts. The history of ionizing radiation, the physical, biological and technical basis of radiation therapy are comprehensively and systematically reflected in the general part. The special section covers the basics of radiation therapy for some common tumors. The textbook should be simple, clear, small and easy to read.
