First Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Spiritual Administration of the Russian Federation, Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute (MII), Professor Demir Mukhetdinov visited the Azerbaijan Theological Institute (ATI).

According to Tehsil.biz, the rector of AII, associate professor Agil Shirinov greeted D. Mukhetdinov and said he was pleased to see the guest at the university for the second time. Then he gave detailed information about the current activities of the Institute, the teaching process, students.

A. Shirinov said that admission is already carried out at the doctoral level - three students are currently studying in the field of religion and the history and philosophy of religion.
First Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Spiritual Administration of the Russian Federation, Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute, Professor Demir Mukhetdinov congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. He said that during the war they showed their support for the Azerbaijani people with an official letter.

Then Agil Shirinov thanked the Russian guest for his moral support during the Great Patriotic War.

Professor Demir Mukhetdinov gave detailed information about the scientific research conducted at the Moscow Islamic Institute. He noted the possibility of implementing student exchange and a number of other projects within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation. The guest also spoke about the activities of Azerbaijani public figures and intellectuals in Russia. He said that the foundation of the building, which currently houses the Tatar Cultural Center, was laid by public figure Shamsi Asadullayev.

After the meeting, a seminar on "Modern Islamic Thought" was organized. Rector of AII Agil Shirinov and Rector of MII Demir Mukhetdinov spoke at the event with the participation of AII employees.

The seminar continued with discussions on the topic.
