On October 1, classes started in school preparation groups established in public schools.

In the 2021-2022 academic year, 25,976 children were registered in 1,188 school-preparatory groups of 276 general education institutions under the Baku City Education Department, Tehsil.biz reports. It should be noted that the purpose of establishing school preparation groups is to increase the psychological resilience of 5-year-old children in preparation for school, to adapt them to the world and educational environment, to ensure their communication and interaction skills.

In the pre-school groups, classes on "Acquaintance with the environment", "Preparation for literacy training and speech development", "Development of artistic thinking", "Development of logical and mathematical thinking", "Descriptive activity", "Music" and "Physical culture" are held.

Children born in 2016 were involved in school preparation groups for the 2021-2022 academic year.

School preparation groups are provided with appropriate training and methodological aids at the expense of state funds.
