Dean of the Faculty of Education 1 of AUL, Doctor of Philology, Professor Fikret Jahangirov said that although we gained independence on October 18, 1991, the first days of 1993 were the most difficult period of our independence. The events of June 4 in Ganja led to the loss of our independence. In such a period, despite the great risks, the Great Leader courageously undertook the mission of salvation of our country. Returning to power for the second time at the insistence of the people, Heydar Aliyev was elected chairman of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan on June 15. Thus, the ongoing tension and confrontation in Azerbaijan subsided, and our republic escaped the threat of civil war and disintegration. Thus, this important historical day has entered the memory of our people as the Day of National Salvation.
Prof. Sevinj Zeynalova, Vice-Rector for Education of AUL, noted that June 15, 1993, which entered the history of independence of our people as the Day of National Salvation, is for people who love their homeland, people, live the horrors of those difficult and painful days and see the events with their own eyes. , as well as the real history of salvation for future generations, the history of the struggle for life and death in Azerbaijan. The creator of this history is Heydar Aliyev, a man who played an exceptional role in the development, independence and future of Azerbaijan, who always relied on and supported his people.
Adviser to the Rector of AUL, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics Anar Osmanli noted that the return of Heydar Aliyev to the leadership of Azerbaijan laid the foundation of a new ideology that includes universal values such as independence, Azerbaijanism, statehood, justice, democracy, national progress, secularism. The domestic policy pursued by Heydar Aliyev was to ensure the right of every citizen of Azerbaijan to live freely and create opportunities to improve their well-being. Economic reforms, establishment of a market economy, ensuring economic development, integration of Azerbaijan into the world economy, implementation of the privatization program, agrarian reforms have been consistent priority areas in Heydar Aliyev's activity. By pursuing a sustainable policy towards building a democratic, legal state, Heydar Aliyev laid a solid foundation for the establishment of the basic principles of human rights and freedoms in the country.
