June 15 is the Day of National Salvation of our people, which has been celebrated since June 15, 1997, and has been celebrated as an official holiday every year since 1998.

The creator of this glorious page of history is Heydar Aliyev, a man who played an exceptional role in the development, independence and future of Azerbaijan, who always relied on and supported the people.

After Azerbaijan regained its independence in October 1991, Armenia's aggression aggravated the situation in the republic.

During this difficult period, he was chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan (1969-1982), then a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 1991-1993. returned to power. On June 15, 1993, Heydar Aliyev was elected chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Thus, June 15 entered the history of Azerbaijan as the Day of National Salvation.

That is why June 15, 1993, which entered our history as the National Salvation, is very dear to those who appreciate and deeply understand it.
