Azerbaijani researcher-scientist Seymur Nasirov has been appointed adviser to the General Secretariat of the World Fatwa Houses and Staffs in Egypt.

 

 Founded in 2015 with the participation of 21 countries and now with more than 60 members, the main goal of the organization is to bring together world scholars, as well as fatwas, to combat religious radicalism, Islamophobia, as well as dialogue on existing global problems. , to solve on a scientific basis through the solidarity of scientists. The General Secretariat is working to form a system of moderate fatwas and a joint strategy against extremism with the participation of religious scholars. Its scientific and administrative structure includes specialized personnel and scientists. The annual scientific conferences organized by the General Secretariat with the participation of theologians and fatwas from around the world include extensive discussions and exchange of experiences on the problems of Muslims around the world, as well as published reports in periodicals.

 

It is also planned to open branches of the General Secretariat of the World Fatwa Houses and Delegations in different countries, headed by the Grand Mufti of Egypt Shawki Allam and the Secretary General of the theologian Ibrahim Najm, and to hold joint scientific conferences.

 

Seymur Nasirov, who has lived in Egypt for 26 years, has devoted his master's and doctoral dissertations to research in Arabic sources on Azerbaijan and prominent Azerbaijani personalities. He is also the chairman of the Union of Azerbaijani Diaspora Organizations in "Patriotic" Egypt, the founder and head of the Egyptian-Azerbaijani Friendship Society.
