Within the framework of the Baku City Education Department and Qafqazinfo's "Let's get to know our heroic teachers" project, we present to readers the biography of Ulvi Gurbanov, a teacher who participated in the Great Patriotic War:

 

Ulvi Faig oglu Gurbanov was born in 1993. He took part in the glorious victory in the Great Patriotic War and taught patriotism on the battlefield.

 

Having been involved in karate and wrestling since childhood, U. Gurbanov has achieved brilliant victories in a number of domestic and international competitions. He won a bronze medal at the 2007 World Karate Championships, a silver medal at the 2008 European Championships, and a European wrestling champion in 2012.

 

In 2011, he graduated from secondary school No. 288 in Baku. In 2011-2015 he studied at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports.

 

During his military service, U. Gurbanov, who showed great heroism in the direction of Talysh village in the war that entered the history of Azerbaijan in 2016 as the April battles, was awarded "Service Certificate" and "Letter of Appreciation" for his service.

 

U. Gurbanov, who started his teaching career at secondary school No. 184 in Baku, has been working as a physical education teacher at secondary school No. 166 in the capital since 2020.

 

U. Gurbanov, who went to the volunteer front as soon as the Patriotic War broke out, took an active part in the battles in Fizuli, Jabrayil, Khojavend and Shusha. He was awarded honorary diplomas for his services in the Great Patriotic War.

 

Heroic teacher U. Gurbanov, a European champion, says he will be proud to be a victorious warrior of the Great Patriotic War and a successful teacher of Azerbaijani education for a lifetime.
