As part of the Azerbaijan-USA Lerik archaeological project, University of Pennsylvania employee Lara Fabian and Colgate University researcher Hanna Lau visited the ANAS Institute of Archaeology, Ethnography and Anthropology.

It was reported that Azerbaijan-US scientific cooperation was discussed at the meeting attended by the director general of the institute, professor Abbas Seyidov, doctor of philosophy in history Jeyhun Eminli, and head of department Safar Ashurov.

During the meeting, within the framework of the Azerbaijan-US Lerik archeological project, along with the head of the institute's expedition for the study of ancient monuments in the South-Eastern mountainous areas, Jeyhun Eminli, ideas were exchanged on the continuation of research in the territory of Lerik region.

Noting the effectiveness of joint research, the director-general spoke about the importance of analyzing the samples obtained from excavations in prestigious scientific laboratories of the United States and wished success to the work of the joint expedition. In addition to archaeological excavations, mapping of monuments is planned during the research.
